Obama's Stimulus Means Law Enforcement is Hiring
Friday, March 6, 2009 at 08:19PM The floodgates opened up on funding from the Economic Recovery and Reinvestment Act, which was signed into law a little more than two weeks ago. And today, the Department of Justice announced $2 billion in law enforcement stimulus funding.
The money immediately flowed to the states, counties, and cities. Pennyslvania picked up $72 million, New Jersey $48 million, Virginia $39 million, and so on. The money is specifically to be used for equipment and hiring.
The news wire was flooded with reports across the country about agencies receiving funds.
So check with your local law enforcement agency - and apply around. It looks like this sector, at least, is well funded and hiring.
