RecruitMilitary is thrilled to announce our continued collaboration on career fair hiring events with the U.S. Chamber of Commerce.
We’re proud to continue our service to veterans of the U.S. Military, and excited to partner with the U.S. Chamber of Commerce for the “Hiring Our Heroes” veteran-hiring initiative and their drive to hold 400 career fairs in 2012.
Having already held 19 Hiring Our Heroes/RecruitMilitary Opportunity Expos, this expanded partnership will cover 50 events from April through December. The career events are dedicated to helping veterans jump back into the civilian workforce (or find new opportunities if they’ve already made the transition). They provide the opportunity to meet face-to-face with companies looking to hire former military.

As Lieutenant Colonel Kevin Schmiegel, founder and executive director of the U.S. Chamber’s Hiring Our Heroes program, said, “To make a difference in the staggering unemployment rates facing the veteran community, we need organizations like ours to work together. I have no doubt that Hiring Our Heroes and RecruitMilitary can demonstrate to employers that hiring a veteran isn’t just the right thing to do, it’s the smart thing to do.”
Since 2006, our Opportunity Expos have been an excellent platform for veterans to meet and network with companies and organizations who value the service, values, and skills of the men and women who have served our country.
This partnership positions us to deliver great results together at our events, and it’s already yielding big results. Attendance has been averaging over 475 job seekers; and, based on exhibitor feedback on a recent sampling of our most recent 10 Expos, employers expect to extend 2,500 interviews and ultimately put forth job offers to over 1,000 job seekers.
