Who wasn’t fascinated by trains as a kid? I know I would get excited every single time my dad would stop at a railroad crossing just in time to see a big train rolling by. The noise and power of the larger than life machines that mechanically and methodically hauled various commodities at all hours of the day and night fascinated me.
The BNSF Railway Company wants to extend to you an opportunity to explore those machines and railways. BNSF is a company with over 160 years of history behind it, and currently operates on over 400 different lines in 27 states and employs over 38,000 employees. BNSF is a company that long prides itself on the quality of their workforce, and veterans play an integral part of that. In fact, since 2005 BNSF has hired over 3,000 veterans.
Veterans, like you, make ideal candidates for the fast-paced, ever changing environment of working for one of America’s largest transportation companies. The job consists of long hours and requires attention to detail and safety- which is pretty similar to what every Soldier, Sailor, Airmen and Marine does on a daily basis.
Working for BNSF is something to take pride in, and you get to be a part of the lifeblood of America’s commercial and industrial world. The mission is vital and has the ability to touch most American households. Currently, BNSF has openings for conductors and mechanics in Aberdeen, South Dakota, and they’re looking for veterans to fill these openings. If you’ve been looking for a career that emphasizes the traits and skill sets you’ve brought with you from the military then maybe this is for you.
